Is it really a HF manifold........
this its kinda stupid......
i am doing my little research for building my own home made turbo.......
i almost got my turbo choosen....... anyways i got a D16Z6 on my STD 90 HB...... i was looking at info and in a few places i keep seeing that i need an CRX HF manifold......... what that means ... i have seen into the CRX HF and their exhaust manifolds dont look nuttin like the ones used for turbos.... i want to know wich car really carries that good manifold that i can use for my home made turbo.........
also if anyone has done this on a Z6 and has a part list, comments, or info that can help me on this proyect i will really appreciate it!.......peace!

yes indeed the HF mani will work as it has the catalitic converter bolted to it directly, and that's where you'd put your turbo, with a help of an adapter. as a matter of fact your old STD mani would do as well. take a closer look at it...

I can get you an adapter plate made for you to fit perfectly with a Garret T-3 to work with an HF mani. Comes with all bolts, and gaskets. Smokinsax@aol.com

Re: Is it really a HF manifold........ (JDM EF9)
if your mani looks like this
you are go.
there is no need to cut anything, just unbolt the cat and use an adapter, welding cast iron is unadvisable.
good luck

Ya.. I'm starting to do my own turbo project a' la homemadeturbo.com.
I got my custom adapter plate made for $90.. 2 hours of labor, no parts.
You can check out my adapter plate and manifold on http://www.driftkids.com

my std. manifold looks like that. It does not have the cat bolted to it. the cat is under the car.

Re: Is it really a HF manifold........ (89 CRX SI)
and then when u need to change turbos u can do it again an adapter plate is much easier to do and safer dont gottaw orry about the welds breaking

Re: Is it really a HF manifold........ (jdmb18hatch)
the welds wont break cause it was done right with a mig welder cranked up. if i ever want a new turbo i sure the hell wont be using that POS homemade amnifold. It sort of just gets the preoject rolling.
