huge problem with rear strut/spring!!
so i go to install the springs i've been carrying in the car for like two years and we get the fronts changed out and start on the rear springs, but we can't get the strut off of the spring. they wer compressed and all but we couldn't get the nut broken off of the post. anybody got some ideas as to how this could be done? preferably without causing the need for a new strut?
if neccesary i'll get a new strut but only if i absolutely have to.

what, the shaft is turning with the nut?
use an allen head in the shaft to hold it still while you unscrew the nut.use wd40 too

tried the allen head but got kinda carried away and ended up rounding out the shaft. any suggestions for what to do with that? i was thinkin if i covered the threads with a length of hose an held the shaft with some vise-grips i might be able to break it loose enough to get it the rest of the way like you're supposed too. would that work do you think?
You CAN use a nice set of pliers to hold the shaft from turning, but you will need a new strut beacuse it will mess it up real bad... It's the easy way, not the correct way.

Yeah I had to use a pair of vice grips to hold the shaft one time, in order to take off the spring.

tried the impact wrench. still no go. i really don't feel like buying new struts and i def need a camber correction kit. any suggestions? i guess i'll try the pliers and covering the threads with some hose.
