K20 immobilizer question
since the immobilizer needs the key, how are you able to start the car without the key if you use a PRB (K20A2 type s) ecu? And can you justuse a PRC (K20A type r) ecu and not have to worry about the immobilizer at all?
been covered before - all you had to do was search
but I will tell you anyways

have a honda dealer reflash the ECU & remove the immobilizer function or send it to hondata & they can do it (for probably cheaper than dealer). Either places will require full documentation of the ECU & dealership will most likely require documentation of the motor too - NOTE: not all dealerships "know" the can reflash the immobilizer function out of the ECU

yes - but its not gauranteed your motor will run as well as it would with a stock ECU since it will have incorrect fuel & timing maps & the PRC ecu will think you are running 100+ octane gas
...my advice...save for K-pro & get your **** tuned. People have gained ~20whp & ~20 tq with K-pro on a (stock) motor with I/H/E

wouldn't a k100 chip for a PRC be the same as getting tuned with a k pro?

no - k-pro is fully programmable. K100 is not. if you make a modification later on you cannot adjust your currect program (with k100)...you'd have to get another flash program uploaded. Chances are there would not be a flash program out there that specifically fits your car & its mods.
K-pro you could adjust you current program or upload a new flash program & then modify it so its custom tailored to your car.
NOTE - this is what I believe from reading info on hondata's website. I am in NO WAY SHAPE or FORM a hondata expert.

Like the s100, the k100 is fully tunable by any Hondata dealer. IT has the same tunability as the K-Pro, but is not adjustable by the user, only the dealer can make changes.
