Go to the Eg forum up top and there is a long list of swap's you can do. It explain's the pro's and con's for each swap.
Also you should look around for a answer to your question before making a new thread
It is a answer on here for pretty much every question you could imagine.

first of vtec meaning dohc or sohc? im assuming dohc, just a heads up ..... i spent about 3500 on b16a2 swap and about 5g's on h22 swap both in eg's no labor cost.. for simple ease of swap b16a2 would be the one ....and yes there are tons of info on all these swaps allready search function is your friend.. good luck

Re: vtec eg6 hatchback (Anarchyracing)
money is not really my concern. i will save to get what i want. basically i want power first (engine swap). i will do a b16 swap if it takes less time than a b18c5. but if it takes close to the same amount of time then i will go ahead with the itr motor. i am working at a chevrolet dealership, and working on school to become a techncian. so i will have the means and the ends to get this car the way i want it. plus i should have a few grand left from selling the 4runner.

Re: vtec eg6 hatchback (andruw446)
sorry about my lack of ediquette. this is the first and only forum i have ever entered. thank u both 4 the help. i am leaning towards making it jdm. so it seems like the b16(dohc) would be optimal. would i need to buy new motor mounts, tranny mounts, shift linkage i guess is my main question. for the b16 swap

Re: vtec eg6 hatchback (TypeR0186)
by no means am i trying to be rude. but i have been reading posts and people seem to go out of their way to disprove eachothers conflicting views. spooned out was saying that it would be easier to install the the b16. it seems like the vehicle specific mods, for example cat back exhaust or headers would be easier to install with a civic motor in a civic than an integra motor in a civic. but that lsd is tempting not to mention the power aspect.
motor mounts? tranny mounts? shift linkage? if i did the b18c5 that might also involve intermediate shaft and axles.
since i still have a new account this may be my last post

Re: vtec eg6 hatchback (andruw446)
basically the b16 and the b18c5 are brother with the same blood. meaning they are almost physically the same size. they are universal to each other. meaning that any b series in to eg mounts will work on either, same as the shift linkage and so on. you problem is gunna be the ecu. one being obd-2(b18c5) and the other being obd1(b16). this is not a big problem, but it does make a b16 swap eiser for the people who have less knowledge. same as any part that bolts on to the motor, as in a header or an intake manifold or cat back. first and for most you should know that either of these swaps are gunna be a pain in the *** to get barred(or at least here in cali they are) SO BEFORE YOU DO ANY THING ASK YOUR SELF IF YOU ARE WILLING TO GO THROUGH THE HASSLE OF ILLEGAL SMOGS AND SO ON
so the $0.02 im putting in is that if you are just getting into the lovely honda world, just to make things easier go with the b16 swap, learn the tricks on how it works and from there you can go farther. search LSvtec and or B20vtec to see where you can go with you B16 after you are framiliar with it.
