help me...'94 Teg with horrible squeaking noise from hatch
it was never really an issue, but recently its been getting worse. it happens when i turn, when i am going straight and at any speed, please help before i go insane. it almost sounds like its two pieces of metal rubbing together or two pieces of leather, or plastic.
thanks
thanks
do you have a rear strut bar? can you wiggle the hatch with your hands while it's closed? do you have a mouse in your trunk? mad subs making everything loose?
I heard of a method to stop rattling of the hatch...put one or two layers of electrical tape on the bar that the hook latches onto. this was for DAs, so I don't know if your latch is different. and it may be another issue entirely.

My brothers 95 ls does this, and so does my 97 teg. Not like I can hear it with open downpipe now anyway. . .
It sounds to me that your rear brake pads are worn down. When they get down so far a peice of metel called a squeeler pops out and rubs against your rotor making that very annoying noise (I know I just replaced a set of very worn pads) and letting you know it is time to change your pads.
its not like a constant metal on metal noise, like breaks make (but those are making a little noise as well), but more like the sound a bed makes when the significant other stays the night. i really can't pinpoint the location of the noise, but it is for sure coming from the hatch itself.
thank you for helping me, i erally appreciate any and all advice (spelling...hahahaha)

Well, it happened on my dads prelude. The plates on top of the struts(where the studs are that you put the nuts on) are most likely going bad. Replace those and youll most likely be sound-proof.

yes, mine does this too, i thought it was the actual hatch, but after i stripped out my interior i realized that it was the plastic that is right under the hatch by the brake light, it rattles and squeaks and bothers the hell outa me, but w/e...
