Default transmission fluid

Ok i wanna change out my manual tranny fluid... i know it is just oil but is that somehow connected with the regular oil in the car or is it something completely different.... I have a 94 ex accord

No it's not connected. You need to buy a non-detergent manual trans oil. I strongly advise going to your nearest Honda dealer, it's pretty cheap and in-stock.

in the manual it says use regular 10w30 or 10w40 motor oil.....

Use the Honda manual tranny fluid you won't regret it. It will make a big difference.

Regular engine oil will foam-up bad with all of the manual trans cavitation (i.e. all the fast spinning parts submerged in the oil).....trust me.

Oh, it's about 6 bucks a quart. And, although it's equivilant to a 30 weight, use the Honda stuff.....your only talking about 10 bucks difference.
