Default Question on a civic type r

Hi guys,
My brother has a Euro spec ep3 civic type r 2002 model.
We have purchased and installed already an apexi n1 cat back and a JDM lsd.
Should we remove the cat and put a test pipe?
Shall we gain any performance without cat?
What would be our next step in performance?
We're thinking about an aem cai, what do you think?

Any comments and help would be appriciated. Thanks

Go with an injen CAI and test pipe would free up some hp. I would just go with a race header.

with the apex N1, you may have lost some low end torque. using a 2.25" test pipe is advantageous. combined with an aftermarket exhaust manifold, oooo boy! i envy your brother

I would go with a Toda race header. not sure if that fits EP3s but it works wonders.

any race header will fit the R with no modification to the exhuast the front swayabr may hit but thats about it....
i would go with a raceheader not a test pipe....maybe look into different down pipes....and ur cars come with cats? u could get the jdm ITR header as also probably cheaper way to go the 4-2-1 design is better than what the us ep3 has dunno if the euroR is the same or what

Toda is a great header. I also remember hearing that the DC Sports race header is comparable for quite a bit less than the Toda.

Thanks for all your info guys.I will check about the race header.
I'm thinking of lowering the car, what springs do you suggest?
This is a type r so i think it is already lowered than the si version you have in the U.S.
So what do you think about ground control?
Do you have some pics on ground controls?

I'd recommend coil-overs vs springs, but it's your decision. Tein make good coil-overs with a variety of options.
