I just got my winter beater back on the road and Id like to have it as winter ready as I can. Would a higher temp thermostat be benficial for a winter only vehicle? 180* is standard but I was thinking maybe it would warm up faster with a 192* thermostat. At the very least it would heat the cabin more as the coolant running through the heating system would be hotter.
Are there any advantages to running a higher temp thermostat?

Yeah I think Im going to. I think the current thermostat is stuck anyways. It takes forever to heat up. I usually get to work before the engine fully warms up after 10 mins of driving.

After a year with the Autozone 192* thermostat, it was sticking open and the car would take forever to heat up. I replaced it with a 5 year old (60k+ mile) OEM tstat and it warms up twice as fast. What a peice of junk.
