Lowering question....HELP.
Ok Im debating on whether to lower my car or not. A buddy was planning ot sell me his NEUSPEED springs and he said it would lower my fronts 2.5 and rear 2.0 inches. I was wondering if:
Lower it using my stock shocks/strut would be ok?
Will this lowering be a bad things to my front camber?
Currently my camber has no problem.
So it is worth the effort or dont bother?

your stock shocks will wear out much quicker. and with that much drop, you'll probably want stiffer shocks anyway. wait till you can afford it, then do it right and do it once.
as for camber, the most crucial things are ALIGNMENT and ROTATION!! if you don't have a camber kit, make sure they get the toe right or your tires will be gone in short order. then rotate early and often.
should you do it? it's up to you. I have adjustable springs and my car is not "slammed" but I am thinking of raising it slightly. after a while, you get sick of steep driveways and nasty speed bumps...

Yes you can use your stockers but they will not last very long...I'd suggest aftermarket shock/struts to go with it.
Yeah. Thats a pretty good size drop and your camber will be negative, how bad I cant say. I had my Prelude dropped atleast 2.5 and the inside of my tires were worn out because of this. A camber kit would be a good idea.
I'd suggest just buying some coilovers that way you can adjust the drop to your liking and some of them come with the pillowballs so you can adjust your camber as well. I hope this helps.

you might as well save up and get everthing at once bc your stock struts/shocks probably wont last very long........to give you an idea on camber, i had those same springs at first w/my koni yellows and my camber was about negative 2 degrees, so you'll probably need a camber kit too!
good luck!
btw, where in tampa are you? i have a spring compressor if you're close to me and you wanna use it....let me know!

I agree... I raised my car back up. But then I lowered again just to have that sexier stance. It's really a tough trade between function and fashion, but I would recommend just like all of the others to get some nice shocks to go with it. I also advise don't go w/ the cheapest like kyb gr-2's. I have'em and still wish I would've gotten something better.
I have adjustable coilovers and the top of each fender is 23" off the ground. I'm going to have it aligned on Wednesday, so I'll try and scan up the specs for everyone. I don't have a camber kit (although I want one!) and I hope to just get the toe within spec.

I finally got it aligned on Wednesday, but I left the paperwork at my work over the holiday. I remember they got everything within spec except for the camber in the front, which was -3.5º.
I guess I need a camber kit... and yes the lower u go the worse the camber gets. He said there was no way to adjust it better than that, but then again, it makes sense.

if you lower your car you would have a bad camber. But you could fix it, you could put a camber kits on it and will sold the camber problem. I don't kind you would wear out the struct easily if you installed it right.

wow i found the answers...</TD></TR></TABLE>
wow i found an ***. As for all the other USEFUL replies, they are all great suggestions, a camber kit is key, as well as better shocks. Save your money and do it right the first time. That way you don't waste money on alignment and install twice, when it can be done once.

If only it were true that you need that alignment one time,i have done soo many setups and I know the guys at american tire personaly now to the point that they dont ven charge me full price for alignments anymore...of course a lot of my trips to the alignment shop had to do with not just buying the right stuff the first time, some age of car,and 1 time a pothole plus 455 lb spring equals disater...but after learning the hardway its all good now and I just like to tell people not to make my mistakes when something better can be done with the extra cash like support my ls/vtec fund 8-)

Yes. Any amount of drop will require new shocks. If not, you will get a shitty ride, and you'll blow the oem's REAL fast.

damn.. i kind of suspected that, but i was hoping it was not the case because my bro was going to get the same springs for his g2 integra before he totalled it and wasn't planning on doing anything else. oh well, thanks
