radiator fan not tunring on, help!!
I was driving to work this morning and everything was normal then right as I got close to work I noticed my temp gauge going to like 3/4. I freaked out and turned my heater on to full blast and managed to get to the parking garage okay since it dropped back down to 1/2.
Question is, fan is not turning on when my turbo timer idles. It always does and its not at the moment. The overfill tank is not overflowing and I haven't drained or filled the fluid since the last radiator flush. I was worrying it was the radiator but I'm just wondering why the hell the fan isn't turning on anymore.
What should I check for? I'm kinna stuck and will need it towed if its something serious. Oh and I have a small coolant leak but its nothin huge. It drips from time to time because the teg hose is bigger than my civic radiator from the swap.

Is your rad fan coming on at all? Could be the thermo switch that turns the fan on is bad??
Jump a wire straight from the battery to your fan to ensure it is still working correctly. First guess is the thermo switch, mine went bad years ago, I just wired fan so it comes on anytime car is on.

check the actual wrieing while the car is on get a piece of say speaker wire unplug the fan put the wire on the batterie and the other end on the fan connections becarful of spark lol this if that works then it might be the wiring unit itself
k, update:
now the fan is running? I checked the lower radiator hose and its pretty warm so coolant is flowing through that and that means the thermostat isn't bad i'm assuming.
any other guesses as to why it overheated this morning and the fan wouldn't turn on?

your thermo switch that senses the heat of the engine is prolly going bad, i would replace that. i don't think they are more than $100. then if that isn't the problem check to see if the fan motor is working by jumping the wires to some kind of power supply.
my fan i don't think ever turns on but i have never had any problems with it, so i am not going to bother, maybe it never gets to hot

guess i could get one of those spoon ones for 74 bucks on inlinefour.com. i wonder with it turning on the fan at a lower temperature, would it have any negative effects.
