Could be that your block is needs to be flushed. After time the calcium ions in water react and precipitate out of the water in the form of calcium carbonate and others. Go to you favorite autoparts store and pick up some penzoil super flush. It will disolve all of the crap that is growing inside. make sure that when you do it you do not run the heater right away, or else all of the floating junk might get stuck in your heater core.

Good luck!

Check the one wire sensor under the dizzy. Alot of times oil leaks will cause a poor connection. If that good measure the actual resistance of the sensor and compare to spec.

***NEVER INSTALL A ONE WIRE SENSOR WITH RTV***

Could be several things

Check the level of coolant
Check the cap
radiator could be getting plugged up (or is just old) and not working efficiently
thermostat could not be opening all the way
could have a leak
could be a bad temp sending unit

I obviously checked level of coolant
replaced the cap,
changed the thermo.
got new radiator
checked for leaks

come on guy I wouldn't waste peoples time like that,
thanks though will check the temp sending unit

how did you flush it?

proper way to flush the entire route, is to disconnect the upper hose and keep water pour into the radiator for 15 mins. you should see loads of build-up flushed out from the upper host after, i got a full coke can of build up last time .

how would that work though?
as soon as the cold water hits the thermostat, it would start closing

wasnt the thermostat sitting at the exit of the water route? keep your engine running and they will be circulate out after some higher temp

at least this is what my mechanic tells me to do..

water flows from the bottom of radiator to the thermostat, thru the engine, back into the top of the radiator
