Need Help Tranny Problem
Went to the nearest 1/4 mile track last week to get a few numbers . Ran extremely good . Sometimes i would go thru the traps in the very top of third or just into 4th . stock b16 tranny w/ lsd . anyways on the way home it started popping out of 5th . It will not stay in 5th unless i hold it there and then it still pops out . anyone have an idea of whats wrong . thanks for the info in advance .

try checking the linkage connections to the shifter, did it to me before....or try the linkage to trans... just an idea

could be slight bent tab on the change selector mechanism for the 5/R shift fork, or more likely that the little steel lock ring broke and isn't between the hub and 5th gear brass synchro anymore causing the sleeve to not stay on. also like highperboi said, check the ball detent. i say you got a problem in the tranny...hope it's not the case though and is something like the linkage.
