still leaking???
I replaced my valve cover gasket and spark plug tube seals and I still ended up having oil in my sparkplugs and i see light residue of oil around the valve cover. why is that, i belive i tightend the studs as tight as possible but i was also told you dont want to tighten it to much or you can snap the studs, do i need to just tighten them just a little nudge more or what help me out guys, or should i just go ahead and bring it to the shop, the only reason why i didnt bring it to the shop is because they may try to tell me to replaces my wires and spark plugs but there fairly new and i dont want that, just the seals and thats it. help me out guys!

You should only tighten the valve cover bolts (On a SOHC) to about 7ft. lbs, any more and you risk breaking the stud or the crown nut, which I have done many a time. If you still have oil on the spark plug, you may have a valve seal leakage issue, a problem that has plagued a couple of my older motors; and last, did you wipe off the valve cover and the head around the gasket after you installed the new gasket?

If you didn't clean the oil off the head when you put the new gasket on it will leak.
Torque to 7 ft.lbs. 7 lbs=as tight as you can get them with your hand. I use a 10mm socket on a 6" extension. Too tight and you'll ruin the valve cover grommets.
I don't recall d-series valve cover gasket but the b-series valve cover gaskets have a "wider" part in the middle of the gasket on the intake side. I wasn't paying attention to this and put it on backwards. Check that.
