Default Lowering Spring Installation

I just bought some Eibach Sportline Lowering Springs for my 95 Prelude Si.

I took it to a GoodYear shop and they want to charge me $1,112.43.

That's just a ******* rip-off right there.

What is a good price shops should charge to install lowering springs?

And also if I can't find a good one I'll just do it myself.

Does anyone have a write-up on how to install the lowering springs or can anyone just post up the steps?

Thanks.

I just laughed in their face and left.

I searched and I didn't get anything about the install.

Only on little specific things like if someone needs to changed the ball joints or something.

This is for the 5th gen though.

Will it work for a 4th gen?

*edit* I'm reading it now. I didn't see this. I searched "spring installation" and "lowering spring installation" when I searched. What did you use?

It should be very similar if not the same for 4th gens, and at the very least should give you a good idea of what is involved with lowering springs.

I used for search "spring install"

The 4th gen's and 5th gen's suspension are about the exact same. Prices should be the same.

I charge ~$150 for a spring install on a Prelude locally. Most speed shops will prob. charge about $300 or so.

OMG they wanted over a grand! Hahahahahaha. What a rip off. Do it yourself or ask another shop. It shouldn't take more than a couple hours, and shop rate is around 60-100 bucks, so they were way off.

You CANNOT just buy any Camber kit-get the alignment printout snd that will tell you how far away from spec you are. Could be that you might not need kits on all 4 corners. We use SPC balljoints for the front and Ingalls adjustable anchor bolts in the rear of our 5th gen. SPC has them for the rear too. You can buy the Eibach kits-but they are made by someone for them-why not use SPC or Ingalls. We ordered from Ultra Performance in Tucson and the deal was very reasonable. Your biggest expense will be the install and final alignment.

how much should an alignment normally cost?

when you said alignment do you mean they do an alignment or do they just do an alignment check?

thanks for the help and info man.

i paid 149.99 for lifetime alignment from firestone. it's great, esp when you're changing ride ht. constantly like i am, or hitting random objects on the street because life hates you, like i hit stuff.

shops where i live charge only 60 bucks to install. Reason why they charge so cheap because most of us here install by ourselves.

i think goodyear and other national chains may have a similar deal.
