tach into a 96 CX hatch
well I am the new owner of a 96 CX htach. (thanks boomslang)
I plan on swapping and boosting, but first things first.
What cluster can i use to get a tach in the car?
I have had a 89 STD Hatch, Del Sol SI, and a CRX SI. but i don't know a whole lot about this generation. is the car an EJ1 hatch? thanks guys. I am sure you'll be seeing me around.

Any 96-00 civic gauge cluster that had a tach will plug and play. Si, EX, etc...

yes, your car is already "pre-wired" for a tach, it's just your car doesn't have one.
I beleive the Si cluster has something like a 9000 rpm tach, and it lights up amber; while the EX has like an 8000 rpm tach and it lights up white. Of course there are JDM clusters also, but they're in kilometers, not miles. You can get a spoon cluster that is like 12000 rpm, but that's an expensive item. Also, mugen makes a cluster, but again, that's big money.
Check the link in my sig, I'm selling a 97 EX gauge cluster from the car I'm parting out, and it's got a tach.

and if u buy his ex cluster (lights up white) you can always change the color of the bulbs (glasspaint) or get amber bulbs from pepboys --- if u arent satisfyed with the white
