Did a search and nuthing specific. I have a 96 GSR and i want to get a CTR intake cam. Do i need an ITR or CTR exhaust cam? I see everyone else upgrading both.
Yes that is what i meant. I think i heard that the exhaust cam was only good for 1 hp or something i don't know. Just wanted some opinions. And yes i knew the CTR and ITR exhaust cams were the same.
You don't need the exhaust cam. You can use the intake cam only and your gsr ex. cam. Some people just like to have the pair together. I don't know if it's worth the extra change that it will cost you.
I think "non-R" intake cams(B-series) are they same as the R exhaust cam. So if you have a GSR, I think you can use the GSR intake cam as your exhaust cam and either the CTR or ITR as your intake cam. Correct me if I am wrong.
Also, I heard that the ITR exhaust cam along with your stock intake cam is good for turbo.

I've heard that this can be done as well. I can never remember to test fit it though when i have my cams out. True, its a little longer but only for the distributor. . . wouldn't there be enought room on the exhaust side? might be as simple as modifying the plastic cam plug.

lol..no you CANNOT put a DOHC VTEC intake cam on the exhaust side.
First of all the lobes are setup differently on the exhaust cam and the other thing is, the distributor key slot - there is NONE on the exhaust cam nor is there room to make one! so yah, it won't worky.
as far as the ITR exh. cam and stock intake cam for turbo setups, I heard that as well, is a good cam combo since turbo's work more off the exhaust side of the engine, having a bigger exhaust cam and smaller intake it's something worthy to try out...
