Default Idea for rear hatch INTERIOR LIGHT, check this out...

So i need an OEM interior light, the one that goes in the EG hatch, mine did not come with one, but it is way to dark back there.

I cant find anywhere that sells them, i tried junkyards but cant seem to find anything that would fit in the stock hole back there....

So what about buying like square shaped side markers, like cheap ones and use one for the hole, will it fit? work? I dont see why not as long as it is wired right, but i am hoping it will be bright enough to see back there.

Or should i just keep searching for an OEM hatch interior light?

Please help, and do you have any ideas?

thanks alot

p.s. My friend said to add a small white neon tube, they sell at pep boys, but im not about to rice up my hatch, but im getting very desperate here...

I had a cargo light from my old 86 CRX and it fit into the cargo area in my EG. Looks like the factory light. So im assuming any civic hatch 84-Up will fit or any crx. Good LUCK

whatever will work for you. I prefer function over form. You could always order the part from Honda .

How about an auto dimming mirror with map lights?

I just got done installing a rear hatch interior light. I was going with the assumption that the hatches were prewired for the light WHICH IS NOT TRUE IN MY 94 HATCHBACK. I spent a good part of the time looking for those wires and never found it. So I busted out the voltmeter and started looking for a hot wire in the area. Couldn't find one. I was going to run a wire from the fuse panel, but I've already torn half the car out so there was no turning back. I ran a wire to the white/red wire of the dome light to the rear of the hatch through the ceiling. Then I spliced another wire to the trunk latch wire which is a green wire with silver rings. If you open one of the hatch lids to access the light bulbs, you'll see that wire hooked up to the latch. I used a trunk light from an EX. I had to the sides a bit since it was a bit long lengthwise. After doing so, it fits. Only thing is that the light surround is like a dull yellow while the rest of my interior is black
