Anyone ever get this ?

Quite a few times, after I shut the rear glass on my EG hatch, the indicator light stays on, saying it's open... but it's not.

I simply re-open and shut it again and it normally shuts off... but what could be causing this problem ? Is something shorting or worn out ?

Happens to me quite often. I slam it down harder. It then just goes away. Check if anything's caught in the latch.

your hatch gate indicator switch works on a ground system so if your wiring or your switch is grounded then it will light up the light inditating that the glass / gate is open. clean out the gate with WD-40 then open close a few times and check again

Try closing it harder. Both hatch window and the tailgate. If that doesn't work, check grounds..

happens to me too I just put a little force into it when pushing down the hatchglass and the light turns off.

funny thing is... I can't press on the glass to make it click off... I HAVE to open the glass, then shut again !

if you cant press on it to close it then you need to adjust it a little, but first clean it too make sure nothing is preventing it from getting stopped then try to take it off and adjust it

No, No, I meant if I press on it while closed... the light would not switch off (but the glass is already closed and must be released to open)

To switch off the light, I MUST reopen and shut again.

I will check the contacts and grounds this weekend.
