i recently installed my jdm h22 and im not real familar with vtec and im not even sure if mines working right. I ran the wires and such, when i rev up to 4200 the rpm goes up faster on its on but when it hits 5200 range the car sounds a little different like a loud scream not a deep sceam thou and i can feel it in my pedal is that a bad thing?

put it in second at low rpms, and the floor, look at the tach, and at around 5200 you should hear a change in tone, and if your not going faster with the cross over then somthing is wrong

You can hear the engine roar when vtec kicks in at 5200 rpms, but no i have never felt it through the pedal.

GOTNOS PM me your location in MN, I'd like to see how the 4th gen stacks up to 5th gen in person. I'm in the Anoka County Area if that is any help.

Are you running an AUTO? If so then I may have a resolution for you. I have an JDM H22 auto trans that came with my swap. Will sacrifice real cheap.

email h22a3prelude@yahoo.com

Good luck

sometimes its difficult to notice vtec on a stock motor. you definitely know vtec if you have i/h/e

if vtec isn't working, the car cuts the fuel off at like 6400 rpm.

if you can go all the way to 8000 rpm, vtec is working, you just may not fee the punch

Who needs modesty?

VTEC doesn't throw you in your seat or anything; it pretty much just gets louder. If it gets louder and it revs to ~7200, then you're hittin VTEC.

I hope this helps

Monday morning my motor blew in my 1994 S, being an F22A1 I had never felt VTEC before.

Wednesday night we test drove a 2000 lude w/ 51000 miles on it. The guy told me to hit VTEC if I wished so I did, and on the completely stock car I not only felt it, but heard it VERY, VERY clearly. The change in tone is dramatic, and if you drive a non-VTEC car for a while you will notice it much easier.

In the next few minutes we should be leaving to check out a 2000 Lude, black, 5 speed wih 74k on it. I'll let you know more about VTEC after I drive it...

mine cuts me off at 6400-6800 more 6800 i belive h22a jdm with a usdm h23 auto tranny with 94 JDN AUTO P13 ECU.Say if i gradually rev the car up when i get to about 5200 the gauge goes up on its own a lil quicker and the car sounds a lil different. But im cut off @ 6400-6800 i cant get near 7200 like you guys. Im throwing egr code i dont know why im throwing it and o2 sensor due to test pipe. Those 2 codes couldnt effect vtec or my rev limit could they?
