btw I believe the prelude out of all stock vtec motors has the hardest kick out of all hondas....the power difference is huge on a stock motor. my vtec(before i tuned my vafc II) kicked harder then my friends 04 si, 03 rsx-s, 98 gsr etc....you should definately hear/feel the difference

That's just the timing that VTEC is set to. An optimal setting will not be felt...

In a lot of cases, if not all, vtec doesn't kick in if you're throwing a CEL.

Also, are you sure it's a vtec? was the engine swapped? because preludes didn't come with a vtec model in 1992.

thats what i said...my vafc is tuned down to 4750(your so called optimal setting ) and it changes much more smoothly

wurd.

I can see why it would have the most "kick" in stock form,
but more midrange power is always a bonus

I feel it has the strongest kick in 2nd gear,
some might say m4d 3rI> 6eAr v74k though

You should be able to feel it, rev it out to about 6.5k, if it feels like the car is slowing down then you got no mAd VtEc yO!

This one time, I hooked up my Vt4cK to my blow-off valve and that **** sounded badass...almost like a Civic, but not as cool or as loud. And that was with only 3 mufflers!!!(one fell off)
