87 Accord Ignition Switch or Trans Switch?
87 Accord LXi occasionally dead at key turn.
Jiggle transmission switch in and out of Park
Eventually ignition as expected.
Not 100 % sure it's the Transmission In gear cut off or not.
What is the name of that Transmission switch?
Does anyone know which might be expected to go first?
The key ignition switch or the Tranny cut off?
What sort of a job is it to change either or both?
All assistance is appreciated
Thank you CR

Nuetral safety switch on the tranny. Hold the key to start and wiggle the shifter. If it starts every time like that it is most likely that. You can unplug it and jump the 2 wires to bypass it, drive it like that for a week and you will know. You have to put it in P to get the key out so odds are 99.9% you will start the car in P anyways.
Desslok,
Thank you. Super recommendation.
I just lubed the ignition switch perchance it was dirty.
Will try your recommendations next.

the switch is not located on the trans. it is on the shifter assembly. just remove the cover around the shifter and it is on the left side of the assembly.Very common on older hondas
