Anybody resurface their stock fly wheel?
The Acura Techs told me that the RSX fly wheel cannot be resurfaced cause of the material that it is made out of.
What do you guys think? has anyone resurfaced their flywheels with good results? I am about to throw in a Spec 3 clutch on their and dont want it slipping cause of this
and you guys havent been getting any slipage or any funny feelings at all? cause this acura Tech is very very strong about it.. he wasnt like "Okay, just do what you want" He was like "man, its been proven by all the engeeniers and its there for a reason. DOnt resurface it.. its not like a B series Fly wheel.. it has a nickel plating that is what engages and once that thin layer is gone its gone.
Any inputs?

any aftermarket lightweight flywheels available? probably the safe way to go about it. if the cash is there, might as well swap it with the clutch your installing....just a thought
Well there should be a minimum thickness spec on the flywheel. or you can go look it up. But i have heard alot of ppl resurfacing flywheels well the ones made of staneless steel. but i dont think alumimum and some others are able to be resurfaced. just go do some research. and if im worng someone correct me.
Like I said, one of my main concerns is saving money, so the ITR fly wheel would just set me back a few hundred.
This flywheel has a coat on nickel(or something like that) so that's why they dont recommend turning it.
