Default PCV issue

I broke the PCV valve installing my AEBS intake manifold. I realize the purpose of this valve but is it needed? Should I buy another one or just bypass it with a hose? I have heard that the stock PCV's are barely sufficient and can go bad without warning. If this is the case it seems bypassing it with a straight hose would be better. Thanks.

Definitely replace the pcv valve. I found out through oil analysis the importance of this item to the health of your engine. Anyone who bypasses this item is abusing their engine to a greater or lesser degree. I learned this lesson the hard way.

The pcv valve regulates the vacum placed on the crankcase, you dont want too much vacum or you will start pulling on the seals, and other things will start going down hill.
PCV valves are important. Replace it.
