Well I just wanted to add this to the archives so you guys have a cheap alternative to replacing your radiator.
6 days ago I smashed the right corner of my car; the ac condenser punched a small hole in my radiator. I tried to drive my car back home and the whole way my radiator's leaking like a chick in heat. Well i didnt feel like dishing out 300 for a new radiator, so I dragged my *** to pepboys and picked up some gas tank/radiator sealant. it's basically a little roll of black epoxy/glue thats costs 3 dollars. I got home, plugged the hole with the stuff, and no more leaks. for saving me 300 $, it is worth its weight in gold !

Wow, much of that stuff did you use??.. The whole bottle maybe??
High five dude, you've just screwed up your cooling system. By using those pelets to plug up your radiator from the inside out, you've clogged your radiator and worse yet, even your heater core..
You don't have to take my word for it, just ask a technician..

it sounds like he actually used the putty stuff, not the pelets....the putty stuff isnt bad to use, ive used it before..... its just a temp fix though.....you should really get a new radiator as soon as you have the money so you wont get stranded somewhere!

how does epoxy/glue sound like pellets ? If I were a betting man I would say that was putty, sherlock.
Anyway about screwing up your cooling system, keep your urban legends to yourself. they stuff has been on for close to a week now, and not one single problem yet. If it ever does cause i problem, I'll be the first to let you know.

That stuff does work. I used the BARS radiator leak stuff, and I've had no problems in months. Best 3 bucks spent
Good temporary fix. When you do get a rad, I would just pick up a used OEM from the classifieds or a junkyard. They go from $50-$100. No sense in getting an aftermarket stock replacement. My OEM radiator lasted 120k before I blew a hole in it, cant ask for much more!
The aftermarket $$$ radiators like koyo, fluidyne, etc, sure theyre more efficient. Its not so much that they cool the engine "more". I was referring to the radiators.com or radiatorbarn or pep boys replacement radiators though, not the "upgraded" aftermarket radiators.
For most applications, you don't really need that level of efficiency. There is a large price difference that doesnt justify the upgrade unless there are other factors involved (fitment, high temp conditions, etc) IMO.

i sell KOYO oem style radiators for 120 (not the complete aluminum aftermarket style one) ... so i see no use in fixing the old one .... also be carefull in the radiators from radiator barn ... so many people have complained about the quality from there it almost makes me think they are not top quality ...
