if this was your problem what would u start to look at ? Is there a fuse for the 4thgen anttena somewhere?

 

do you have a stock radio? If you do check the connector at the antenna motor.

 

does it stay up? does it even go up? or do you not receive any reception?

mine stopped going down. mine was fixed by purchasing an antenna mast from ebay.

 

naw i got a dual deck clarion cd and tape player, the antena doesnt even go up an di have no receptions.

 

can you hear the motor working?

 

its suppose to go up when the car starts right? if its supose to make a noise then nuthing is coming from the rear besides the fuel pump priming.

 

theres a fuse that controls the antenna.. i can't remember if its under hood or dash though but it should say on one of the fuse panel covers. your mast or motor might be broken. and it should only go up when you turn the radio on.

 

maybe whenever the radio was hooked up, they forgot to hook up the antenna wire. I'd take the radio out, and make sure all the wires are hooked up right. The antenna wire is blue sometimes with a white strip, but if that isn't hooked up, then that is probably why your antenna isn't working

 

im guessin they didnt connect the antenna wire. My antenna doesnt go all the way down anymore and makes this big RRRRRRRRRRR sound when it stops (very annoying) I'm thinkin about cutting the wire and capping it and leaving the antenna the way it is since i hardly ever listen to the radio anyway.

Since we are on the antanae subject.... is there a way too manually control the motor. Sometimes I don't like it reachn' for the sky. I know of the JDM half-way switch. But JDM is $$$. How bout a toggle switch instead?

I just disconnected mine and put a window mounted flat one in the back window.

but yeah.. if you dont hear the motor running.. check the fuse.. if fueses are fine it might be a wiring problem
if it does go up.. and gets like.. stuck half way.. buy a new one.. cuz its broke
