Does anyone know the size of the bolt for the main bearing cap on a b16a? I know it is either 14mm or 15mm, but I wanna know what it is exactly. Thanks in advance.

 

I don't know of many 15mm bolts on Hondas, but I can't say for sure so here's a free bump.

 

Same here. Thanks for the free bump. Does anyone know for sure? Someone has to have a helms with this info in it. I just busted 2 sockets trying to take these bolts off, and before I go buy some craftsman ones, I wanna know what size to buy.

 

The simple answer is, don't send a boy to do a man's job. Use 1/2 inch drive sockets for things like this and they won't break. You do have a torque wrench don't you? If you don't, you don't want to pull these caps off anyway. I'd buy a 14 and a 17 You know it's one or the other.

 

I don't need a torque wrench just yet. I won't be putting the caps back on. This block is screwed up bad, so I'm making a table out of it. But I need to get everything out of it to clean it off. The problem with the sockets breaking was that they were cheap no-name brand ones. I'm getting newer, better tools slowly but surely.

 

You have an impact driver? Air gun? Don't be afraid to **** some **** up, although the crank will make a hell of a lamp post if you are so inclined .

They're 14 mm bolts.

Do this....take the 14mm socket and place by tself on the bolt, then wack the top with a hammer, then crack them loose
