Default Rev Limiter and hondata...

i have my rev limiter set at like 8900 rpm with hondata, if i were to mis shift it would be physically impossible to rev past 8900 rpm correct?

No. If you misshift you're gonna be looking at some stuff to fix.

Rev limiter does not protect against a misshift.

Go from redline 4th back to 2nd. Guarantee that you will see more than 8900rpms.

It's a fuel cut, not a mechanical device to prevent certain piston speeds.

False. An ECU cannot compensate for a mechanical over-rev.

I concur with the above.
Then again ... why don't you try it and let us know, just in case we were mistaken.

The rev limiter works to prevent you from revving over x rpm when in x gear. I'm sure it prevents revs in neutral also.

However, it does no prevent you from physically putting it in the wrong gear (i.e., misshift)

When you are in 3rd gear at 8000rpm and go for 4th and instead put it in 2nd and let the clutch engage, that is not going to be something the rev limiter in the ECU can stop. So, no it is not physically impossible. It is no different than the stock rev limiter in an ECU. (except that you can change it with hondata)

you can close thread now, got the info i needed, sorry for the stupid question but some-1 had to ask
