If you're in Hawaii you're screwed for shipping...but that's what people get, you can't have the sun, tropics & all that and have everything else your way too!

Here's the problem...USPS is the best price to ship parcels to HI, but they have a 70lb weight limit as far as I know. Plus if you send with the lower cost parcel post it takes a month or more to get there. You can ship up to 150lbs by air through FedEx or UPS but the cost is crazy. I sent a Y8 head/manifold setup to HI, it was about 67lbs packed. Parcel Post was $45 (took 5 weeks) but FedEx would have been $110.

It may depend on the tranny you're sending. You might be able to pack a cable D-series for under 70lbs. A hydro D-series in a box w/packing is around 75lbs, and B-series are a bit more still.

$300 seems pretty steep. Pack that sucker up, measure and weigh it then go to http://www.fedex.com and punch in the numbers to that zip code, remember it has to go Express, obviously it can't go ground. I'm going to run a sample and come back to post what I find out. What is your origin zip code and the one in HI you are shipping to?

OK here goes: a 90lb box, 24x24x24 inches, insured for $400 would cost $211 from Detroit to Honolulu, delivered to a residential address. About $2 less to a business address.

I don't think the tranny weighs that much. A D-series hydro tranny weighs less than 70lbs unpacked, and a D-series cable tranny weighs less than a hydro version. I can't imaging the B-series cable tranny is a full 35lbs heavier than the D-tranny, it isn't all that much bigger...
