I've got a 94 rs and just added a cheap short air intake. The problem is when the car is just warming up and under 3k, the intake whisles. Does anybody else have this problem? Also the intake makes a stange noise at 6k all the way up to 7k. Is it the cheap intake or what?

 

What kind of intake. My aem cai whistles...then again, so does everyone else's I know. Its nothing.

But what kind of noise at 6k 7k ? I was going to say thats your vtec But then I forgot you had an rs. hehhe. What kind of noise is it though.

 

heh my car does the same thing but its only between 2500-3100 rpms. My intake will make a whistling sound and btw i have a aem cai. i don't think its anything bad, most of my other friends have it too, prolly something not to worry about.

 

my brother's civic makes the same whistling sound at idle.........is no biggie......

for the last time.. vtec crossover is NOT at 6-7k, that is the IAB!!! Damn kids!

 

mine whistles also but i think it sounds cool

 

its whistling cause its sucking air in - just that. nothing bad. mine does it too.

 

and me aem before did it too

 

it is normal. My pld AEM short ram did that. It was very annoying.

 

the whistling sound is part of the reason why the aem cai is so cool! Nothing wrong, i love it.

Seriously, my AEM CAI whistles, snorts, growls and hisses. I love it. There's a different sound for every RPM range and throttle position!

 

Yea dude,its called the intake sucking in air,u know thats what an intake does suck in air.
