Im gonna start slowly building up my y8 motor for turbo! but say somthing goes wrong cuz i messed somthing up along the process and kill my motor! My bud gave me his old 1990 d15 motor from his std civc! can i just put that in until i rebuild and fix my y8! i have everything to swap it cept the harness! but ill be buying one of those! i did some searching but nothing was really covered on it! so i decided to ask you guys! thanks what complications will arise! easy in/out yes/no

 

wow, that is going to be one slow car if you put it together.

it is possible but you are going to have to keep your current tranny because it is hydrualic while the one off the STD is a cable tranny.

there are a couple of wiring differences due to the fact you are going to be placing a ODB 0 engine in a ODB 2.

this swap is not legal since you are placing an engine older than the car.

 

But of course its just temporary until i get my y8 back going again! This is just an emergency engine! How different are the mounts!

 

Tranny side and rear are different I believe.
