anyone with vafc
i got a gsr with basic bolt ons....is a vafc2 worth the dough? what exactly can you control with it besides vtec and simple a/f ratio adjustment...someone give me some insight.....i did search..but found nothing on vafc review...like im looking for
with just bolt on's the vafc wont do much. add some cams and then u can make use of the VAFC. and u can only tune the A/F ratio and vtec engagemnent and disenagament rpms

no problem! i had always wanted a vafc, but didnt think itd be worth it since i dont have cams, gears, im, fuel rail and fpr (i eventually want to do though)......after reading that though, it looks like it may actually help a little even w/mods i have .....another thing that caught my eye in that thread is that it says that if you havent fuel tuned even with minor mods, it could kill your cat if youre running rich, which i probably am by the smell of it! lol.....i still have my stock cat bc i havent gotten around to buying a new one (have header, catback, and cai though) and well, my cat seems to be going bad cuz its making a wierd noise...i may be rethinking buying a vafc controller now.....even if it might not do much now, i'll eventually need it w/what i want to do.
A vafc II that’s been dyno tuned works … I made a min of +6 hp between 3900 to 5700 and +18hp at vtec with 14tq…..
But there is a downside if your car is your daily driver like mine is (its going to cost you more at the pumps)…….. I lost a ton of fuel economy….. I’m only getting around 23mpg now…… the reason for this is probably cause the mfg tune the cars for about 70 to 80 % of it power to balance economy and performance….
