and were i can get a performance cam for a d16z2.?
my car is not a crx however. it is a rover coupe with a crx engine. will try to post a picture at a later date.

every one i ask gives me different answers.
mabe you can tell is the d16a6 the same as my engine *(d16z2)* just need to know if the cams are the same
also can be found in the 1.6 Concerto (Uk model) and rover 216 (Uk)

sorry i will word that abit better.
just lookin to know roughly wat the cut out would be with a crane cam and apexi safc fuel controller.
or wat is the highest you have heard a d16a6 rev to
e.g (stand 6500rpm with contoller and cam 8500rpm)

The cam isnt the only thing that will determine rev limit and power cut-off..
You could have the best, meanist profile cam in the world, but without a good valvetrain to support it,,its useless...The cam might make the power up to 8500rpm like you want,, but I dont think the stock valvetrain is gonna be to happy about it...
And the SAFC takes fuel away..So you would need a fuel psi regulator to compensate for that..
bisi's allmotor sohc revs way past 8500rpm..
His **** is built though

Im assuming you mean intake manifold..If so then yeah they work great..
Also victor-x manifold by edelbrock..And the stock d16y8 manifold is the type-r manifold of the d-series,,,And while your upgrading the intake manifold ..might as well upgrade the throttle body..
I know you're in Europe and its hard to get all this stuff..

i am new to tunnig honda engines that is why i ask stupid Questions.
and yes it is hard to get things for the engines in europe, most of the time double what you would be paying for your parts. because of import tax.
d16y8 thats the vtec?
am i better to use that intake manifold than am after market one?
Dont want to make the motor Vtec but?

D16Y8 manifold came off the USDM 96-00 Civic EX. It is better to get this one rather then an aftermarket since the aftermarket one is not needed at this point. This link will break it down for you - http://www.team-integra.net/se...eID=4
With the rev limit also, you can build up the valve train to make that power, but if your rod bolts can handle the stress of the reciprocating mass then there will be one hell of a mess in your block.

thanks for that bit of info man. will look into it.
are there any other parts i can take off of the d series engines to give me more power remembering i dont want to make my engine vtec??

You can always swap pistons to raise compression, and a popular thing around here is if you are going all motor is to pull the pistons out of D16A1 or a DOHC ZC and attach them to the stock rods to raise compression up through the roof, or about 12.1:1 ish.

thanks
will rasing the compresssion do anything to the rpm?
also the intake off of a z8 would it be as good as one from a y8?

No raising the compression will not do anything to the RPM. There is this little thing called the rod stroke ratio of the motor and the closer you are to 1.74 the better off you are revving, and unfortuanetly the SOHC 1.6L have a rod stroke of 1.52. If you really want to rev high and not worry about it, one of the B16 is where you want to be as they have that almost perfect RS number. Raising the compression anyways will make you more power as long as it tuned correctly and more power = more fun with the motor. I do not know about the Z8 manifold, what car is it out of?

the z8 manifold i have is out of a 1996 honda civic vtec sohc.
i need the power because i intend on going to the nurburg ring with a few friends and there all putting out well over 200bhp at the wheels.
can you get a long block conversion for the d-series.?
