At least you could decipher it. I read it 5x and still couldn't understand the message.

Get a new clutch. I had a horrible vibration when i put my 85 hatch into gear. Once it was in gear it was fine. Fix it before you get stranded somewhere.

Once it's in gear and you step on the gas, is rpm and speed directly proportional? Or does the rpm increase and then speed?

The clutch is on it's last leg. I got stranded when my clutch was doing this. I was on the freeway and the clutch went out. Pulled over, put it in 1st and rolled backwards.

the throwout bearing is in the transmission. It engages the clutch when you press on the pedal. did you replace it when you changed the clutch?
