Default All-Time Favorite Install

I was just wondering what everyone's all time favorite install was. Not the craziest install or best SQ or most SPL....just what install sticks in your head as the best one.

Mine is Steve Brown's 95 M3. The car that started Alpine's over-the-top installs, but the M3 was still a usable and drivable car.

Check it out here

yeah, that was one of the first one's that makes me say WOW....

personally, I really like buwalda's Altima out of the latest work - very simple system with killer sq - his 240 was REALLY over the top as well

fav all-time - it would be tough to narrow it down considering all the great installs over the years

The badass '94 Toyota Supra TT from SIM in Allston, MA.

http://www.sound-in-motion.com....html

it used 3 10W6s for SPL, in SQ mode, they had an actuator inside the box that made the single enclosure into 3 divided ones and disconnected one of the drivers in sq mode, with a camera inside the box that you can see move the actuators Accelle monitor motorized on the passengers side door. Yeah, it has a PS2 and a portable DVD player, but the car began construction back in '98. there was so much machining. even under the panels, everything was so neat and finished.

The car was sick, sick, sick and it was such a clean install. the av system enhanced the car, didn't ruin it. the coolest things was that the car competed in IASCA pro in teh late 90s, early 00s and this prelude from FLA always beat in until the cars last year of competition, where it snagged a 1st place at the finals and then retired.

In the mid 90s, PPI had a white 96 GSR that dropped on 16 or 17 kosei wheels, but otherwise looked stock. clean and had a bunch of white stickers over it. I remember it has a Canton ft stage, ODR head and a PAR225. the install was also sweet, simple and very well crafted.

Todays installs imo don't stand out.

Good to see some links to those older installs. Zausmers always amazed me, and and Steve Browns M3....nothing really stands out anymore unless Steve Brown is involved...IMO at least. There was alot of Old school installs that I'd love to see pix of. Wish I still had my old issues of Car Audio layin around

lol you have to respect 15" subs in kickpanels especially ths B&W's.

i think the majority of the older installs are nicer than the ones from today. today's installs jsut seem to be too outrageous like the alpine civic. especially since even with alll that work they used it to display their type R line. at least put the F1 status in there.

5. Mobile F/X 's Typhoon..had 2 seperate audio systems: SQ and SQL
6. Steve Browns "Will work for paint" '79 Celica ( or was it a Supra )..Hey you gotta start somewhere right..in his case it got him in with /////Alpine.

2. That CRX kicked serious ***
6. Yeah, that car launched his career.
10. One of the few "over the top" recent installs I was really impressed with. A little to much paint in the front of the interior for me (all the waves + flames a bit much for me) but overall very unique well laid out install. And yeah, it had a damn waterfall in it so...lol

word. 20 or so speakers powered off a single PPI PRO MOS 25 or was it 50 and a sick passive network behind the seat. All the speakerwarehouse cars were sweet.

the iasca circuit was so much more fun back in the day when it was less competitive, people were just doing it for the love of car audio. towards the end, iasca turned to crap when manufacturers started buying trophies by turning competitors into sponsorship ******.

todays installs reflect more bling than actual sound, but hey thats what sells and brings in the customers. I am a fishman fan from ay back, got to see his twin cam way way way back in theday at a show in peabody Ma ( the fish tank that started it all install lol) i wonder what goes on in his mind and where he comes up with some of these jobs lol, but its seems to me his work lately is not as nice as his past work.

He prolly has to pump them out much faster seeing he has so much work but my fav fishman install is the s10 blazer he did, anyone ever see that ? with the motorized floor , tons of glass , and the motorized via bike sprocket and chain spare tire cover with tire shaper fishtank? omg
