Jl XR650CSI Install in Integra, anyone done this ? how to do ?
Ok I wanna install this component set in my car.
Of course the new speaker does not fit in the stock basket. What is the best method to install this speaker ?
Modify the basket or just take the basket off and install it against the metal ?
Search function is down, so any help would be appreciated

the hole behind the basket isn't round.. it's tappered and becomes flat at the bottom. Plus you would most likely have an issue with the window hitting the magnet. You can either cut the basket out and get a foam baffle to put between the basket and the speaker (to help with the SQ and to keep water off the back of your speaker), or remove the basket completely (like you said) and make a wood spacer to bring the speaker out some. Again I'd recommend the foam baffle.
