cold weather
2 questions.....its 39º here, will that affect my rev limit, and cause my heat to blow cold when sitting still? it wasnt doing this b4 i installed my VAFCII, someone please let me know something...and thanx in advance
needle was at normal level......only thing changed on the VAFC was the vtec xover....from stock which i think was 5500 or 5600 to 5200.....maybe i just need coolant or a new thermostat......guess ill find out more 2morrow when its light outside and a lil warmer
my work van was doing this today, 99' GMC Sivana 3500. It doesnt have a VAFC so i dont think thats your problem
but the problem went away once i started driving down the road.
I know how you like to let your car idle to warm up, But hopefully if you let it sit there long enough things will warm up. Weather is getting a lot coldler out so things tend to heat up slower.

Heaters are usually inside the loop from the radiator and thermostat so that shouldn't have anything to do with it. If your engine is at idle it won't be pumping as much water thru the system and if it hasn't warmed up, the little water it is pumping isn't going to be very warm.
Also consider that while you drive all summer and don't use the heater, that water sitting in your heater core is growing stuff. (did you use distilled water?) That's why it seems like heaters break down in the beginning of winter when you need it most.
Check the heater core for clogs, even a small one can at least slow down the heat transfer. Maybe do a system flush with the heater on to make sure the heater core get flushed really well.
