I know hondata hasn't come out with a Reflash for the 05 yet, but judging by the performance you get from the reflashes on the 02-04's which would be a better choice?? E-manage or Hondata. I want to have a lot of tune-ability

You guys are stuck with the 05 models right now. Honda changed the entire ECU, so hondata is going to have to spend a lot of time and energy to decode it again and then offer flashes or the k-pro. You've probably got a good year to wait. Sucks, but you'll have to deal. K-pro and the hondata flashes are great. I had the k-pro myself and highly recommend it. Most of the advantages of a stand alone, complete programability, and you retain all stock ECU functions. It doesn't get better than that.

I would definitely go with Hondata when it comes out. Hey, at least you have time to save up the money.

As I recall there was a thread regarding the new k20z engine already. Hondata has figured out a way to run a piggyback system that is similar to reflashing the ECU. The map showed a gain in torque and hp also. So I do believe that they have some maps already set.

hondata isn't a piggyback system. hondata uses the OEM ecu, just modifying the parameters.

the K20Z1 has a brand new ECU and hondata was deciding if to even try to crack it. dunno if they decide on doing it or not.

I think what you read was when they replaced the K20Z1 ECU with a K20A2 ECU. That's the other route they were considering. just making a ECU harness so you could use the old ECU's with the new car.

like they said, there is no hondata flash yet, although they are trying stuff. but as far as for the 02-04, go with the kpro. i sold my Emanage. it fights too much with the stock ecu. too many bugs to fix thru tuning.

the problem is if i have to use the older ecu harness i might as well just get the e-manage and get the bugs sorted out, My friend is running an e-manage and his car is working perfectly
