hondata questions
I just received a Hondata 4b that I bought used, and just got my ECU back and ready for Hondata. Did I have to buy a seperate EEPROM to use with my ECU? It seems like that is the case, but I assumed it came with the Hondata system.

Re: hondata questions (GruvyTune)
I bought the kit used and it didn't come with one. I ordered one and should have it tomorrow.
I do, however, have the ROM emulator and burner, and I'm trying to get that to work. No matter how I hook it up, the Hondata LED blinks red slowly. Any suggestions on getting this hooked up right.

Re: hondata questions (Brian_92GSR)
I have a Hondata so i might be able to help you...With stage 4b, you should get a EEPROM (Atmel 29c256)...it is a flash type ERPOM. But since u bought it used, tough luck. But they're only around $20 directly from Hondata so it isn't bad.
As for your blinking Hondata box, either you wired it wrong (plug in the connector wrong), connector is not properly seated, bad or EPROM not plugged into the ECU...and the worse is..your Hondata box is just f*cked (and that's why it is being SOLD??) I hope not. Anyhow, you mentioned you don't have any EEPROM...so I would suspect your ECU socket is empty...thus your problem. If u have any further question, write me at randomwalk101@yahoo.com

Re: hondata questions (randomwalk101)
From talking to the guy I bought it from, I'm almost positive everything worked when he sent it out. The ECU socket has the emulator plugged in right now. I've tried moving the various connectors and aligning them different ways and have yet to get it working. The LED always blinks when I turn the key to ON.

You can download the manuals directly from http://www.hondata.com and if you have questions you should contact doug@hondata.com and/or visit the Hondata forum on T.O.O.
I am also 4b owner so you can IM or email me privately if you need more info.
