Rounded a bolt and then some...help
OK... today i rounded a bolt on my lower rear control arm, but decided that wasn't good enough. Dont ask me what I was thinking, but i put a grinder to it and now I have very little stud left so it is almost impossible to get leverage on it. I was just wondering if anyone knew how I should go about getting what is left of my bolt out. If suggested that I should take it in, I'd like to know a place that could do it, and how much do u think it should cost.

damn that sucks man, i had the same thing happen to me. It's a real bitch and you can't really do anything about it now. Take it to a shop and see if they can do it for you. It shouldn't be more than 10 dollars (for me at least).
Having same problem, just gave up, but there are many tools capable of taking out the stud. I'm looking into this item right here.

I will attest to that. Especially since I've been known to work on fords, they come in very handy.

the bolt extractor works wonders... also, try to use 6-point sockets that are the right size. rounding bolts usually is beucase of people using 12-points. i know from personnal experience.
You could use a bolt extractor to try to get the bolt out. But the bolt might still
just spin in side the metal sleeve in the bushing.
If it does spin, then your best bet is to cut the bolts off on both ends with a cut off wheel.
Take the lower control arm off, press the bushing out and replace the bushing.
Put new bolts in and your good...
