Default turbo installed but not getting boost

i have a 99 ex coupe and i installed my turbo kit a few days ago but haven't seemed to be able to see any boost. i have checked the wastegate and hooked it up to the IM to see if that would help. checked pipes for leaks a few times but can't find any, car keeps throwing codes 71,72,73, and 74 (misfire on all cylinders) so i keep adjusting the timing but once i get into the throttle good it throws it again. what could the problem be? oh and before i got my downpipe on i could hear the turbo spool like crazy, now i can't hear it at all. could my turbo need a rebuild?

my set up is:
tubular manifold
saab T3 turbo
internal wastegate
CCA 6" FMIC
Greddy type s bov
2 1/2" charge pipes
dsm 450's
V-AFC
2 1/2" exhaust
timing set at stock (well thats what i set it at).
boost and A/F guages.

might be that your running 2 1/2 piping. takes longer for spool time.personaly i think that 2.5 is kinda big for y8 stock.thats just my .02

ok, a turbo that small wont make that much "spool" noise. its all dependent on the size of the turbine housing, which isnt that big in your case. also, do you have a missing link to keep the ecu from seeing boost?

i dont think that you need the missing link with the V-afc hack.

yea u do, at least thats how i remember it, the afc doesnt keep the ecu from seeing boost, only a change of fuel values for a given rpm.

i dont you need any missing link either..when you switched the wastegate line to the intake manifold did you plug up the hole on the turbo? other than that check all your pipings..

you my friend are a jackass.

i had a t-25 on before (smaller turbo) spooled loud as hell. and when using the hack you don't need a missing link, (thats basic turbo knowledge maybe you should not try and give advise in the FI forum?).

no i didn't plug the hole i hooked it p to the lower nipple on my type s. tomorrow i will probly take all the piping off and check it for leaks more closely but i have checked a couple of times now so i am pretty sure the turbo is leaking from the compressor housing. i changed my plugs and wires today and nothign changed. so i don't think i'm gonna change the timing bellt until i get the boost problem fixxed.

could the missing link itself cause prevention of boost? the orings, if you have these fancy-looking type?

I'm in the same boat... different setup... no boost...

Could you tell me what happens? Since the guys are saying you don't need the missing link with the hack, you would be removing the missing link.

sorry, im not exactly vafc literate. does your t3 have a bolt on outlet flange or is it just the straight outlet? i would check that first.

check for boost leaks, vacuum hookups, wastegate arm, and make sure ur vafc is set right. in 6 out 6, 40 across the board.

Check you vacuum lines, hoses, piping, check for manifold leak, check for oil pressure, check wastegate.
