Mini Me
I am going to buy a d16z6 for $200. But it was out of an Automatic so it wont be coming with tranny or ecu. The person says he dosent know how many miles are on. So should i buy it, what should i look for? What computer should i try to buy and anything else that would help.
I'd buy it. Just use a 88-91 civic/crx si ecu, distributor and injectors. Then hook up a external switch or a vtec controller for the vtec. You can't use a hydro tranny in a EF anyways, so get a 89-91 si tranny and you'll be set.
Is your car a si or dx?

My car is a dx. So should i use all the z6 parts or try to find si parts such as ecu manifold, injectors and so on. What links do you have marked001. I want to make this easy but i also want the most power i can get out of these combination.

get it, this is a good deal if the thing works. when i bought my z6 head only, i paid 225. u can probably sell the block just for that money and have the head for free
dont forget, when u put the head on the stock CRX block it's not the same as the whole d16z6 engine. this will give u 10.5+ compression and u'll make more hp.

this page is if you're using the p28 ecu...(obd1)

these are all using si components... not the best way, but cheap and easy...

Just FYI, even if your sticking with the non-obd setup you can still use the z6 intake manifold and all the sensors. All you'll need is non-obd injectors from an si, and of course an si distributor and ecu.
since you've got a dx, you're gonna have to spend some more $$ anyway...may as well go the right way, you're gonna end up paying the same amount either way probably. you're gonna need a si dizzy, pm6 ecu (88-91 si), rpm activated switch, plus other miscellaneous... figure at least $200 for that stuff... to do it the right way, you're gonna need a p28 ecu and OBD0-OBD1 harness figure around 4250...all providing your engine is complete w/ injectors and distrbibutor...you're gonna end up spending only a little bit more for an engine that runs better and stronger....
Marked i also want to know if with the z6 swap can i reuse my accel plug wires or i have seen some people say you need to use z6 plug wires. Also do you know anyone that has a P28 for sale, reasonably priced?
...gotta use the z6 wires. keep a look out on http://www.thepartstrader.com ...you should be able to get one for $100-125..I wouldnt pay anymore.
