Default HF or Dx

Ok i have a 88 crx Hf or so i thought, it has the characteristics of an Hf ie. no rear windshield wiper or squirter. The other day i got a carfax report on my car and it said it was an 1988 Civic Crx Dx? My question is that my buddie told me that it is possible that the 88 dx and the 88 Hf had the same characteristics. Does anyone know?

Check your wiring harness. HF is MPFI and DX models are DPFI. Most likely, if your wiring harness is stock with no modifications, it is an HF. DX usually requires additional wiring to make it MPFI, which is what your LS motor is.

When i bought the car it had a hacked up wiring harness and had the ls in there so i really cant tell and i replaced with a wirign harness out of an Si. But what i was asking is there any way that the 88 Hf and the 88 Dx had the same body lines as in none of the rear windshield wiper or squiter, thanks for any help.

Compare your VIN# on one of those carfax.com websites. Itll tell you what model/trim your car is.

does your cluster have a shift light in it? both HF's i've had have had shift lights and a really low redline, also HF's have different seats than the DX, they are much more economy car looking rather than sporty like the DX seats. and HF's have no rear cargo cover.

is the interior blue?

blue = hf
black = dx/si.

my dx had a rear wiper with a squirter. also, the dx is the same cluster as the si. redline at 6750, well, a bit under 7000.

umm, what are the seats like. the dx has recaro seats like an SI but with shitty cloth.
