tail pipe expander.. any experience?

Default tail pipe expander.. any experience?

anyone ever use one of these? i have 14g steel do you think this tool would be able to stretch it?

i have tryed to use one of these befor and they suck, they might work on thinner metal but i dont think it can do 14 gauge.

or you could just stop by your local muffler shop and have them expand them for you,

I broke one trying to expand some SS tubing. Then I went to a muffler shop and the guy did it for 5$ 2"-2.5" SS

that doesn't look too much different than the hydraulic ones muffler shops use, i don't know if it'd be any good for 14 gauge though.

I don't see a problem butt welding the tubes together, you shouldn't need to expand one end. Just make sure you are getting good penetration with the welds (practice on some pieces short enough to see the back of the welds). If you're making good welds there should be no weakness in doing it like this..
