if my IACV or TBS sensor(s) were bad, would i be throwing a code? i have no CEL now, but my idle surges. im thinking it may just be a vacuum leak....but just wanna make sure its not the sensors 1st

you will be throwing a code if is was bad....surging idle...there is a big chance that you are leaking air.

 

go get a can of starting fluid and spray it on your vaccume hoses. Then you will know were the leak is. I had the same problem it was my intake manifold gasket.

 

your TPS (throttle positioning sensor) could be getting low voltage. thats whats happened to me and my check engne light would light up or not at all. my idle would dip down as low as 100 rpm and it would sound as if it was gonna die put. i believe pepboys told me it was throwing a code 7 i can check the reciept if you want just lemme know
