Default 11.0 Compression GSR rebuild Part 1

Ok after my GSR took a **** due to a spun a rod bearing i decided to over haul the motor and add a few new goodies.

My poor car

new intake i found for 50 bux shipped

wanted to get the car a little stiffer so i found this bad boy for 20 bux

Cluth that im reusing. grabs like you wouldnt belive

Before the bearing spun i was suffering a loss of oil psi hence no vtec. so i got a oil psi gauge. well it didnt hook up very well so i had to make something that would work as well as kepe the stock dummy light sensor

US p73-A0 ITR pistons

Till part 2

compression will be 10.8 with thouse pistons with a gsr head
if your cheep and dont want to go big bore or forged like i was i sugest you go with b16 pr2 pistons for 11.5cr or jdm b16 p30's for 11.7 cr or jdm itr pistons for 11.3 cr

well i was going for a ls crank swap with jdm itr's for a 12.3-12.5 ratio but it didnt work out that way so i just said to hell with it and found some itr pistons from a freind and decided to use them instead. im just looking for a decent motor to drive around with lol

from the 1st pick it looks like u have an LS (Hub caps on them wheels)

but anyways, did u check ur crank yet to see if u scratched it up from spin n that bearing? if u did then u gotta take it to a machine shop to cut the crank. and that would suck!

man, u shouldnt be using used parts in ur motor, especially used pistons! just buy a new set. And the clutch too!

anyways, hope ur motor dont get screwed over again from using used internals

first off a used clutch itsnt a big deal it has like a thousand miles on it. also im not using any of the spun stuff in this motor i have a fresh itr crank and a fresh set of itr rods with used itr pistons. the fact this stuff is used dont mean jack ****. the pistons are still within spec and have not ovaled to fit the old motors cylinder walls and being that is standard bore it wouldnt matter anyway. a hone would be a good idea. yes my car isnt a gsr its a ls/se auto that i converted to a 5 speed gsr and has full gsr interior. but how do you no i didnt get rid of my gsr rims for some hub caps? lol

lol, i wasnt try n to put ur **** down bro. relax a bit. i was just give n u the heads up about using used pistons. (the clutch like u said shouldnt be a problem) but u said those pistons r used. assuming that the wrist pin has been pressed out of those itr psitons: when they pressed out the wrist pin from the old rods to get those ITR pistons out, there could be a chance that the pistons could have cracked or weakend. therefore install n them on ur engine wont be a smart move. im just let n u know bro. no disrespects.

oh by the way, who u call n a NOOB?

i was j/p wasnt trying to be serious which is why i put the face lol. the itr pistons didnt have wrist pins when i got them so i used my gsr ones. i asked the machine person at the machine shop if he could give the pistons and rods a look over and see if they have anything suspecious about them and they all checked out fine so if anything does go wrong it will be bad karma lol

why didn't anyone suggest ctr pistons. Wouldn't those give you the highest CR?

yes would yeild the highest compression but i am on a limited budget and dont ahve money for some new injectors and some serious dyno time plus i got my itrs for a good price. Im not really trying to build a super NA monster i just want a decent running motor with a few nice things on it basically
