95 GSR CEL Question
Hello everyone,
I am a new member and I am looking for some info about my check engine light. I have had my cel appear occasionally when I am driving uphill at highway speeds. I also had an emissions test failure (high CO) and gas mileage that is 5-10 mpg worse than usual.
I had a tune-up performed and had my O2 sensor replaced and everything seemed fine for about a week, then the light started appearing again and my mileage went bad.
My question is how do I check the engine problem codes in my 95 Integra GSR? Can I do it with a paper-clip? I spent a good fifteen minutes looking for the little blue connector thing specified on this site: http://www.troublecodes.net/acura/ with no luck. Is the info incorrect on that page? Under the front of the passenger seat I found a funny 6-pin connector that looked like it might be an interface for some diagnostic tool. I couldn't see an LED on the ECU either, but I did not look at that too closely.
I don't know if the service center gave me a bad O2 sensor, or even forgot to change it, or if the problem is something else entirely, but before I go back there angry, it would be nice to know for sure that the O2 sensor is the problem so they cannot fabricate some new problem.
If the problem is something else, would anyone have any idea it might be?
Sorry for the long post. Thanks in advance for any insight.

I just looked & I think the pictures on that site were a little confusing...
You don't have a flashing LED on the ECU itself. Your check-engine light blinks.
Look in the corner between the glovebox & the OUTBOARD kick panel. (Sorta like they show for '96-'01 Integra service-check connector??) Mine has a green rubber holder with 2 blue plastic plugs. Maybe it's hidden, or stuffed up sorta high in there? You want the 2-wire plug. Pull it out, the green rubber holder isn't an electrical connection at all.

Thanks!
I found it. 2 codes: 1 and 43. Oxygen sensor failure and fuel system supply. Maybe they put in bad fuel injectors too? Or could that have also been thrown as a result of the bad oxygen sensor?
I would not have found that plug without you, thanks again!

I think 43 can be caused by a bad O2 sensor. Or even a bad connection to a good sensor... I'd probably look for flaky corroded connections to the sensor, unless you've got some kind of warranty on the repair work.
Thanks again for the help,
I brought it back to the garage. They said that the new one they put in failed. They replaced it with OEM which cost $100 more than the Bosch universal aftermarket piece that they originally installed.
No more limp mode. I forgot how much I liked my car, especially compared to the wonderful Chevrolet Prizm that they gave me as a loaner.
