Oil Pressuse Light. Did Search Already And didnt Find The Answer
Ive got a 1992 Integra w/ B-16. Problem is the oil light had been coming on really dim and would gradually get brighter but not to its full brightness and then go off every other day or so. Now it is on dim to moderatly bright all the time. Its been like this for several weeks now and i drive the car daily. I have a Electrical Autometer gauge that i just hooked up and oil pressure is great. 25-35 PSI at idle.
55+PSI @ 3000RPM and beyond. The light flickers when my turn signals are on or anything else that draws a load from the battery. Ive replaced the oil pressure sending unit to no evail. Could the problem possibly be a faulty connection or a short in the wire? If my oil pressure is this normal, do i really need to solve the problem other than just to get the light to go off?

Intermittent & not well-connected to ground, since it comes on dim & variable.
Is the signal coming off the oil pressure sensor a grounded signal or is it power? and thanks for replying
The bulb has (+) battery voltage at all times. The oil pressure switch closes the ground side of the circuit. So you're looking for a stray intermittent(!) connection from that wire to ground. Could be a real PITA to find it. The stray ground connection might even be in the cluster??
Well i drove over 3000 Miles Round Trip from Texas to Las Vegas with the light coming and going but had 75 PSI the whole way. I wish i knew how to fix the light now because its annoying but is no longer a threat to my motor. The light was on most of the way going up there. Coming back, the light didnt turn on until i got 300 miles from home but my Autometer gauge never fluctuated.
