buy pr3 pistons ? (94 LS)
i have a 94 LS .. pt much everything stock except cold intake... thinkin of increasing CR.. can i just buy pr3 pistons n put it in the head? or do i need other things to support it such as cams, cam gear... can i get away with just getting the pistons? how much performance would i get ?
umm pistons don't go in the head buddy. If you are going to use the Si pistons, you might as well go all out and start building your head. Cams, valve springs, retainers, cam gears are some things you should start to look up.
If you're low on cash, i wouldnt even consider the piston upgrade. The cost of the install is going to be pricey, unless you plan on doing it yourself.
i have a buddy who owns a shop and he said he don't mind to do it for me for free.. =D
if i just put pr3 pistons in there.. are there any danger? performance output? can the stock b18b cam take that? it's on a 129000 KM engine btw..

yea u can install the pistons. those r the pistons that im gonna put in my LS block. i already done head work: CROWER 403 cams, valve springs, retainers, cam gears. gonna build the block next. ur gonna need to have a machine shop press out ur old pistons and put the new ones on. u dont wanna press the new pistons onto the LS rod cuz they crack most of the time. a machine shop will heat the rods up so they will expand, and then they just slip the wrist pin onto the rod and piston. u should also get ARP rod bolts and headstuds when u do the install.
good luck

btw.. forgot to say that my LS is auto....
if i get crower 403 cam, valve spring, pr3 pistons.. would it increase the performance? i saw some dude got this car near to 150whp w/ only the cam and pistons.... would that help an auto car tho?

hell yea that would increase the performance. i would upgrade to the crower 62404's for even more power. im gonna swap my 403's for the 404's once i build my bottom end and put in a B16 tranny. defintily invest in some cams and pistons. wake that LS motor up!
but u said ur car is automatic, so that sucks! wont be as fast as a manual

i can get some pr3 pistons cheap locally... just wonderin if i should get them? can my stock motor handle it? 403 cams r too expensive for me for now.. so thinkin of just gettin the pistons
how much u get n the pistons for? ur get n it with the wrist pins and piston rings too right? im look n for a set myself. when u do put in the pistons, make sure u get a set of ARP rod bolts and head studs as well!
Compression gives torque more than HP. I don't know why.
anyway, this quickly went from "what are these pistons going to give me" to
"you should also do the cams, then the header, then the..." ETC. Lego building.
You have an automatic integra, if you want more performance, do a manual swap.
If you don't mind the lower gas mileage an ITR/GSR/Civic Si tranny would be fantastic for you (you can even swap in your long LS 5th gear for highway cruising)
