I know you guys out there hate scammers as much as me but i need some help from you Florida guys! Basically, i need some help with a scammer that ripped a good friend of mine off on a CTR engine. The engine was bought offline from an Ebay bid and this has been going on for the last year. What my friend got from the guy down in Gainesville FL was a B16b block that was supposed to come with a spoon sports stroker kit and ITR head but instead came with an first gen B16 head and no stroker.

After the head has been inspected, the head came with no valve cover, no distro, no VTEC solenoid, no alternator, B16A manifold, single valve springs in the head, and some other misc. stuff.

Here's the vitals on this guy, i need you guys real bad on this one.

I have all supporting documents to represent his claim and offer on his product as well as copies of all the reciepts and transaction's that were made. Ebay can't help with anything since it was bought offline from the auction.
sometime for proof and get some pictures of the engine and how it came.
To make a long story short, this guy quit answering my boy's phone calls after a few days after recieving the engine.
He's avoiding my friend, the claim is almost a year old, money's gone but not spend on what it was paid for.

Sorry man my situation was a little different as I was the seller. Do u by chance have an address of his?

 

My question is: What do you plan to do with this guy when you find him? Legally your pretty limited. Best thing to do is get a current address on this guy then file a small claim in an applicable court. I believe if my memory serves me correctly, to file a small claim in court it runs $20.00 and is good for anything under $4,999.99.

You will have to do this in steps of corse but you could really **** this guy where it hurts, which is his wallet. I'm quite sure you would win in court, so after this you could use that and file another claim for fraud which we all know is a Federal offence and more than likely he will be convicted of it. Another thing you can do is try and track down others who have been burned by him and make your case together.

Personally I had to go through this to get back some things that were stolen from me. It was very timely but very inexpensive.

Thanks for all the help though, i think a claim is going to have to go through. I more or less wanted to let him know that ppl are looking for him and it is a small claims law suit to file. We just want the money back. I just feel so bad for my friend... I thought that i'd have assistance online. Thanks guys,

I asked a few guys for you today. Alot of 'em know who he is. Yes, he is going to Gainsville right now, from what I've been told.

I guess there's another guy looking for him as well. I'll see what I can do.

Maybe its a miss-communication deal.

 

I hope its something along those lines. He's pretty close to really picking up that phone and making some phone calls to some attorney's to see what he can do. He wants to file a claim right now but if he's an active poster on HT, im gonna give him the benefit of the doubt. I just need to speak with him personally cause my friend's been dialing him left and right..... no answer for the last year!
I'd appreciate it if he PM'd or even IMed me.

Lets see if he responds or post up. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt but my friend's in the military, i know he's pretty pissed but all we wanna do is talk.
He wants to head down to FL to find the guy but i know there's a better way to resolve this. He can have the motor back, send the moneyu back in payments if he wants, this just needs to be resolved before it gets any bigger cause we all make mistakes. he's a fellow HT'er, ill let him go with that...

Im really confused here... I barely remember this sell since it happened so long ago but from what i remember this is what happened.

I posted originally on ebay that I had a ctr block w/ 1.8 stroker kit but took it off ebay b/c i decided not to sell it witht he storker kit... I then recieved an email from Im assuming your friend? i guess.. that said he was interested in it and wanted to know why i took it off. I talked to this guy on the phone many many times and i made it very clear what i was selling. Which i thought he understood.. maybe not.
It was a b16b block with a b16 head w/itr intake springs and cam (and i believe a gsr exhaust).
there was no manifold, valve cover, vtec solinoid, distributer or antyhign else listed int he deal WHY WOULD I SELL IT THAT CHEAP IF IT WAS?
he was concerned about not having a ful long block so i told him i would through in a manifold but nothing else was said.

I hope maybe your firend remembers this... he is welcome to give me a call at that phone number since its definitely not out of service... obviously i ididnt recieve any calls afterwerds since he says my number is out of service when it really isnt..
