Default NEED INFO!!: Puting a 97' GSR motor in my 89' civic CX

NEED INFO!!: Putting a 97' GSR motor in my 89' civic CX and having troubles figuring out what distributor to use. I recently had a B20 in there but blew it up. Now I have a GSR motor, tried using the 90 LS distributor but, the housing hits the v-tec components on the exhaust side?! I have already done dx-zc wiring conversion but need to know what distributor i can use? I also using the 88-91 civic SI connectors on the DX harness to go to the distributor. Can i use a civic Si distributor from a 88-91 or what can i do?

I also have a PR4 Integra ECU from a 90-93 LS but, i also have a p72 ecu for the GSR motor. Do i have to convert to OBD 2? or is there a way I can use the PR4 and get GSR specs out of it? sumpthing i need to know, or else i'm looking at a lot of wiring to get the GSR ecu into the car. Would a obd2 to obd 1 coverstion harness work? i dunno...help me out! thanks!

First of all search will help

Heres how id put it in

97 gsr motor, use your wiring harness do the multi port conversion and convert to obd1 and run a p72 or chipped p28 (erricks programs are good).
You can find a parts list for obd1 conversion there fairly simply and you should have the dizzy and o2 sensor on the longblock. Not sure what tranny your running but the ls will be laggy and if your going to use a ls tranny at least try to find a 92-93 so it will have a 4.40 final drive. Doing that you need a diff clutch and posibly halfshaft, you should be able to use any b alxes depending on if the half shaft has a male or female end on it. Use what ever b series linkages you have you will need to cut about 3 inches out of them and weld them, be sure to take the section out of a flat area to keep all the factory bends. Hard wire up vtec, knock, secondaires (one wire signal another 12v power...I think you can tap into iac).....if you need any more info or help just pm me.....I just finished a jdm gsr in 90 teg converted to obd1

now, i read your post and the wiring harness has been converted to obd1, i have a PR4 91 integra ECU and a P72 97' integra ECU obd 2. The only solution I can think of is a P28 92-95 civic SI ECU and chip it. But then, I still have a massive amount of wiring I have to do in the cab footwell. I'm using an LS tranny out of the 91 teg as well but, I will be putting 00' Sir gears in it from 1-4 and keep the final drive for highway reasons. All I need to know is if the 91 LS tranny countershaft will fit those 00' SIR gears for 1-4? but, that's also after I get the motor running. Everything previously has been done, I use to have a B20 in there so, it's just a matter of what ECU to use and distributor I use as well. let me know what you think. thanks!

you can buy a adapter harness that you plug into the cabin harness where the ecu goes, the plug the ecu into that.

get a 94-95 obd-1 p72 or a 92-95 p28 (w/ chip). then a 94-95 gsr dist, 4-wire o2 sensor and wire it up.

The ecu adapter harnesses look somewhat like this and take out 90% of the wiring.

sry for the x-large image :/
